Hi, I'm new here and I'm from Utah and I have an 01 Ford Escort zx2, 4 cyl. Frnt wheel drive 2.0L engine, automatic, and my car won't start in park, it will only start in 'neutral'. I have changed the water pump,new timing belt, new battery, had alternator n starter checked n they are ok. All my lights in dash lite up, did recent oil change, new air filter. Did some research and maybe my problem might be the "neutral safety switch" is either going bad or is bad (according to what some say, if I can only start car in neutral then the safety switch is already bad??) I'm confused. Can someone here help me????
And if the safety switch is bad, where is it located? Will it be difficult to fix? Can I get this part from junkyr or should I buy it new? Is it expensive? I am getting sick of all the money I've put in it. HELP, please!!
