I had a rattle that sounded like the dash . It ended up being the passenger door speaker was loose . I had another rattle that seemed to come from the dash . It was the garage door remote in the overhead console . Hope this helps .

Buy some mylar tape, place it where the door panels touch the metal portions of the door, all the way around.

Althought you swear its in the dash, I had the exact same assumption....this is just a process of elimination.

Well, it does it just pulling out of the driveway or going 5mph down a flat surface.

When its below 40 Degrees, it wont do it. Above that, but belong 55, it doesnt.

Hey Fast...

To find the rattle, do the following:

Put your hands on either side of your ears and cup them forwards.

While the truck is moving, move around with your head close to the dash.

Move your hands, in unison, from left to right and back again.

Repeat this.

Repeat it faster.

And Faster still.

If you hear the rattling, then you now know it's coming from inside your head.

Dash rattle has driven me crazy on my 2000 f150. I took the dash almost completely apart and the rattle was still there. It was one of these that you could hear the best, at an idle and just as you started moving. I found it after weeks of looking to be the cable to the gas pedel. Easy fix once you find it!!

I have that annoying rattle too.
I just give a big slap to the HVAC and it goes away, sometimes.
Then turn up the volume

Going to get it fixed this winter when you can hear it much better!
