Passenger seat rattling

I did a few different searches, but didn't come up with much.

Everytime I go over a bump or a series of bumps my passenger seat rattles back and forth like crazy. I tried just tightening the seat track bolts, but that didn't do anything. Right now I have the seat completely taken out and have tightened a few bolts, but there wasn't much more to tighten so I don't think this is going to solve my problem. I started wiggling around the slider on the seat track and so far it seems like it's the only thing that could be making the noise, but it doesn't seem like it moves back and forth between the track enough to make as much noise as it does when I'm driving over bumps. What can I do to fix this? Should I try lubricating it? Stuffing something in the track to "cushion" it a little more? Thanks for any help.

Check the latch mechanism.

Latch mechanism looks good. It was hard to tell, but I think there may be some bushings inside the track where the slider is that may be bad. I'm not sure if that's what is causing it or not. I'm probably going to have to just turn my music up while I'm driving from now on.

Send a message via AIM to Patman03SprCrw
loosen up one side of the track, and move it all the way forward in the bolt holes, and scoot the other side all the way back, it will kink the track sideways and tighten up the clearances if that makes sense

Went ahead and did it. We'll see how it holds up.

The bottom of the seat is planted firmly. It's the top portion of the seat, where you lay back against that is rattling. It's starting to drive me crazy. Any ideas what I can do to keep the backrest from moving back and forth so much?

Got the same problem man. The only thing that helps windows down and music going. Or someone in the passenger seat.

I wonder if that's what I've been hearing and thinking it's the jack rattling.

Jack is under back seat and seat vibration is 100% obvious

I just found out something interesting today - the rattling that I thought was coming from the jack compartment was actually the passenger-side pocket door. I asked my passenger today to see if she could tell where it was coming from. She opened the doors, slammed the pocket door shut and closed the full door. No more rattle.

That explains why sometimes I have the rattle and sometimes I don't. I guess sometimes that door's not shut good. I discovered some repair to the very bottom of it, and I wonder if maybe the fit's a little temperamental now.
