My wife's car is fairly well coated with dog hair (we have 10 pooches) and we would like to clean it up. I have tried to vaccum it out and its a lost cause. Have also tried a lint roller but thats not real great either! Anyone got any suggestions on how to get the hair out?

I use combination semi-wet or moist rag and some kind of rubber block...plus a shop vac of course. Start with the rubber to pull the hair from the fibers, then vac, then finish with moist rag.
If your wife has a pair of Playtex rubber gloves under the sink for dishwashing, grab them and they will work wonders on dog hair. You either pick it up, or pull it all in a pile for the Shop-Vac to pic up. Easiest, and best, method for hair.
We have tried the duct tape idea and so far it ain't working too well I think that brushing is going to be the method of choice once I get one. Luckily the dogs do not all travel at once (they would not all fit anyway, its a Neon) it would be nice to find some way of not letting it happen (short of not letting them in the car) they do not travel in it very often now just the odd trip to the vet or our groomer. The white trash remark is a bit uncalled for 8 of the dogs are Chinese Pugs, the other are a rotty & a sharpei. All are dogs that have been rescued from neglect etc, we do not leave them outside nor do we misstreat them, our dogs are very much part of our family. If a few more people looked after them as they should then there would not be the need to find them alternative homes. I cannot begin to guess how mucch we spend a year on food & vet bills it was & is a serious commitment!
The only other thing I could recommend is a seat cover...we have one for our 4Runner...although it's not the easiest to remove...but it does work. Not to mention the dogs can "grip" it when I'm driving....I don't exactly drive "kid-proof"...It's a thick duck like canvas. I think we got it from Foster's and Smith....Not entirely sure.
you've got that PITA short dog hair that just pokes itself into the fabric of the seats. I would go with one of those dog grooming mitts that you can buy at Walmart or Petco- thats got the rubber nobs on the palm. That should help extract the hair from the fibers- then install either an old sheet or seat cover of some kind.
Shines, didnt you date over 10 dogs before you got married?
Try using a lint roller. The kind that come on a roll on a short handle. When they get full of stuff, just tear it off and trash it like a paper towel. I use that in my truck, and that seems to be the ONLY thing that will get the dog hair off.
