01 60/40 Split to 40/console/40

Howdy Fellas! Well another adventure may be my way. I was planning on removing the rear-seats and putting in a roll-bar w/ racing seats...But that plan was a little far fetched for the time I have to spend now. Now for a new and improved plan! I have found a perfect match to my seats on Ebay, full set for under 400 dollars. Now, my question is, how poor would it look if I did some detailed cutting and all that jazz on the passanger seat to remove the 60 center seat w/ the console, and had it wrapped up by a tailor to at least look OEM, then put an expy console in the front? The middle doesn't ride on any rails except the passenger side, so I doubt it would do anything to the actual adjustment of the seat etc. But, would I have to weld some new bracing in to remain with the same structural integrity? The link to the site is underneath if a visual is needed. I'm talking about cutting the middle section with the arm-rest off, then putting an expy center console in. My problem is that my seats as well as these have the seat-belt integrated, therefore I need to keep this intact since the 01's had the 4 door swing with integrated seat belts on the ext. cab. Any ideas or thoughts?? I would then be putting an expy center console in the cab to take up the space! Thanks a lot!

Thanks! That tread is what I want to do with the seats at least. But the difference is my seats have the seat-belts integrated, he did not have to worry about that because it was a pre 99. I wish I didn't have that problem to worry about, but its the only way to keep it safe and legal. I would have to actually chop the 60 side of the bench :-/ time to bring out the Sawz-All

Unfortunately it does matter! Do your seats have the integrated seat-belts? Mine do, and they never made those for the expy. I have to cut the 60 bench w/ integrated seat so my passenger has the seatbelt thats the whole point, to keep oem look while people that know F150's will be like, wait thats BAMF or something lol.
