Cool Can i put a center console in my truck?

I'd like to replace my center jump seat with an oem center console in my 06. Has anyone done this? If so, how big a deal is it?, and will i be able to use the same mounting holes and hardware? Thanks

Its very easy. You need to remove the bottom cusion of the jump seat and you will see 4 t55 torx bolts. Remove these and the jump seat is gone. Install the console with the same 4 bolts in the same place. Its a great mod, I love my center console.

ETA: The bolts are in VERY tight. You will need to use a breaker bar or something similar. An impact wrench would work great

lil_man,

I notice that you have a STX. I've thought about doing this mod ('05 STX 4x4 R/C) but don't know if it'll work with manual shift.

Thanks to lil_man, BtownFord and NoLongerJeepin!! You guys are gurus of center console conversion! Now, if I can find a reasonably priced CC!

I'll keep that one link in mind. There's a pick and pull junkyard near me. Think I try there first.

I never considered that swap, looks very good. If I ever see a gray one for a low price maybe i'll give a bid. I dont care console to jumpseat but it would look better. Jumpseat is a bit better for then I gotta clean the windshield though
