Leather vs leather trim

New to the forum and Ford. No more Tundra for me. I am going to purchase an F-150 4x4. I want to equip with leather interior, however on the Ford build site they only offer leather "trim" as an option. Is this the same as leather?? I tried to build by ordering a Lariet which includes leather but I cannot add 4x4 in Lariet package. Any info is appreciated. I know I can ask dealer but wanted to go to dealer with info inhand.

Jay

Lariats (it's Lariat and not Lariet btw) come standard with leather. I just built a SuperCab and SuperCrew Lariat 4x4.

When you build it and go to the interior the only option is a bench front seat or Captain's Chairs.

See here for standard features.

Thanks, Blue Flareside

Appreciate your help. I can add the 4x4 to the Lariat. One more question, difference between Lariat and adding the 4x4 option as opposed to going with the 4x4 and adding the leather seats? Does Lariat give me anything aside from leather seats? Leather trim same as leather? Thanks again

Jay

I assume you are talking about the FX4 model, since you cannot get leather in an XLT.

Lariats come standard with:
- Automatic Climate control (not an option on FX4)
- Message center with trip computer (not an option on FX4)
- Additional wheel-mounted controls (audio and climate) (not an option on FX4)
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror (not an option on FX4)
- Color matched front and rear bumper when 2 tone and chrome on monotone
- Body colored wheelip modlings
- Fixed rear window with defrost (option on FX4)

Leather trimmed is the same as leather as far as I know. I believe they say leather trimmed because just the seating surfaces are actually leather.

Ok I'm confused. Your not saying (or are you) you can't get climate control and the other stuff on the FX4. I have an 03 FX4 lariat screw and mine came with all the stuff you said was not an option. Except I have a power sliding rear window. Sorry Just alittle confused.

In 03's the FX4 was an extra trim package, like ordering a "chrome package". I had a 02 FX4 Lariat with all the above listed stuff. 04+ was a separate trim level.
The FX4 lux package actually does come with the automatic climate control system now, as well as a few other items.

drjay9051, The best thing to do is go onto fordvehicles.com and look at the standard features on each truck, then decide what you want as far as features go. Then go build a Lariat and a FX4 with the options you want and you will see the price diff. Thats what I did and discovered I might as well go with the King Ranch. Good luck.

I was just posting what is on Ford's site. I am not that familiar with the FX4 upgrade packages.
