Post New Car Scent

All of the new car scents that I get smell like my dog when she gets wet. Seriously. There is not a scent in the world that I have smelt that smells like a new car. So what makes this scent? Where do I get it? Or, has anyone smelt a real car scent? Maybe I should just buy a new car to get the new car scent.

My brother needed to glue some carpet down in his car a few years back - it really gave it a new car smell.

Cool

I love the smell of a new car. (Yeah, I know some people don't like it.) Anyhow, the smell is made up of new carpeting, glues used as adhesives and new plastic.

My '97 F-150 kept the new car smell for two years -- I rarely rolled down the windows, etc. and that might have helped. Unfortunately, the new Harley truck never had much smell and has already what little it had.

I've never seen a scent, spray, etc. that actually was able to duplicate that wonderful aroma, either.

I think it was just regular carpet glue for wall to wall carpeting that's laid on cement.

Question

Do you guys that like those "new products" outgassing smells prefer the new cars over the new construction smell? Just curious, I like both, hell, I like the smell of gas !!
