I got my oem HIDs and Morimoto fog lamps installed yesterday they both installed very easily. The HIDs were just plug and play. I had to use self tappers to attach at three points. The fogs were easy to install as well. I removed the housing which is attached by three screws. You can do it without removing the housing, but it's a lot easier if you do. The oem housing pop out with a flat head screw driver and than the new ones pop right into place. I had to reuse the factory screw for adjusting. The screw they sent was a machine screw and didn't have the correct thread. Other that everything went smooth. Remember your truck has to be running to check that they are working.

 

Here are some pics of just the fogs. As you can see they have a very wide light output. I was surprised at how far to the side of the truck it was throwing light.

It will probably be this weekend before I can get the pics up. I have a place in mind to take the shoots from and adjust the fogs and headlights at the same time.

 

Here is another pic of the fogs adjusted. The wall I used at work to adjust them had a light on it so it washed out the light in the pics. I found this curb to give an idea of where the fogs not at compared to the HIDs.

 

It looks to me that your passenger side headlight is slightly high. The hotspots and cutoffs should be 100% level to each other. Some people mistakenly align the upper driver side cutoff and the lower passenger side cutoff...which is incorrect.

 

Not technically incorrect. A "double step" is totally fine. As long as the lower step on the passenger side isn't gong to high.

 

I've never once seen a recommendation for a double step alignment. If properly aligned with that method you'd be setting up the driver's side about 4-6" low at 25'.

This was the cut off for the fogs at 25' at my work this morning. I the HIDs measured out right at 2" below the center of the projectors which equaled 36". I didn't post these pics because the light at the top of the wall was washing out the light of the fogs. I acually had to readjust the fogs once I got over to my wife's work. When I installed the fogs I took a measurement of the factory housing and used that for the motos and when I readjusted them they ended up right back at that same measurement. I kind of feel like I froze my *** off for nothing this morning, but I know what it feels like to be temporarily be blinded coming around a corner, and I don't want to be that guy.

FYI I just had the the headlights on in the garage and the passenger does seem to be a bit high.

 

The lights themselves are suppose to be oem according to Dawson at raptor retrofit. But who really know besides Dawson. They fit well there were no defects and the light output puts the halogens to shame. Especially when I turn on the brights. I think I just need to adjust that right one down a little. Trying to find a place around here that is 25' away from a wall flat and without lights is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

 

I just adjusted them using the garage door as a reference and I think they look pretty spot on now.

 

I've seen it, some people use it. I myself don't. Raptor however does, or at least was going to.
Doesn't make it incorrect tho.
