Cabin Air Filter on a 2004 F150 Crew Cab

I just purchased a preowned 2004 F150 Crew Cab. It's a beautiful truck in great condition but there is one problem that bothers me to no end. The previous owner was a smoker and the cab stinks especially when I run the heater or A/C. I know somewhere on this truck is a cabin air filter and I'd like to change it out. Does anyone have instructions on how to replace the filter as well as where it is?!

Unless someone ordered the optional cabin air filter, there is no filter to change. Very few of these trucks had this installed. You could get one though.

I had this discussion with my mechanic and he said I had one because his filter book showed one, but then I showed him where there wasn't a filter. Anyone have a pic of an '04+ with one? Does not sound like an optionable item to me.

no cabin filter in your truck, get the bg evap/mildew cleaner kit for the a/c. 100% guaranteed to remove all odors.

I'd def try that ^^^^^^

Definately no cabin air on that truck......... But if for some reason there is a magical one it would be either behind the glovebox or under the wiper cowl on the passenger side. 99.9% there is not one though!!

Same problem here where previous owner was a smoker. I'm going to try the evap/mildew cleaner kit. I think covering the seats with seat covers might help too.

Any other suggestions for getting ride of odor is welcome!
