Defroster/AC question

question - Should the AC compressor come on when I have my defroster on?

Currently when I have my selector knob on anything other than vent my AC compressor comes on. When i have it on vent it warms up nice but when I have it on defrost or floor it does not get warm..

If this is not correct what could cause this?

Also my AC works and works very well.

I disconnected the Plug on the AC compressor and the Defroster warms up better now.

lmao.... the AC kicks on cause its better to defrost you windows with cold air than it is hot air.... extreme heat to a FROZEN window will crack it...

The compressor needs to come on in defrost because thats how you get dry air to defrost or defog. Because it is dry you may need to up the temp a little to get more comfortable. I think there is a setting where you can split between floor and defrost too.
