not heating properly

2005 F-150 5.4 3 valve. I just started using the heat and noticed that it was'nt putting out much heat. Changed the thermostat and noticed better heat but when I put on auto at 80 degrees it dos'nt get very hot. last year I would have to turn the heat down at 77 degrees. I checked the antifreeze and it reads -45. Never been changed. whats wrong, they want $145 to flush the system.

Skinman, I'm going to move your thread to the HVAC section. There are probably some experts there who can help you!
