This is my first post, hopefully it is in the right place, here is my problem:
I have a 1984 F-150 300i6 with factory a/c when I try to switch the lever over to a/c I get no air flow out of the vents. Everything else works, when on defrost I get airflow out of the dash vents along the windshield, when I switch to heat I get the airflow out of the lower (floor) vents, but when I switch it over to a/c I can hear a slight click, which I am guessing is a switch to turn on the a/c compressor but there is no air coming out of the vents. When I move the temperature selector the arm with the cable attached above the fan motor under the hood moves, so I am thinking it is not the door inside that that is attached to. I just had my a/c system recharged a couple of months ago because the air was not very cold. After the system recharge it was working fine, but then it seemed like when I went over bumps the air stopped coming out of the vents, then it would start again. I thought it was the fan wheel (hamster wheel looking thing inside under the hood) that was broken, I pulled that out and it is working fine. I can hear the fan motor running when it is switched over and as soon as I switch the selector to heat or defrost the air starts coming out again with no change in fan motor sounds. Is there something inside the ductwork, that may have come loose or any other suggestions anyone may have. Thanks for your help
