Hello

First time poster, long time lurker here.

I traded in my 70 bump last year (and still miss it) for an 06 150XL. It's definitely a stripper model, 4.2 stick and no power or a/c. But I thought I would post the question here since it has to do with the heat controls.

With a/c you can choose between recirculate or fresh air. Why can't I do that with just heat? Is there any way to fix that? I want to shut off the air intake and yet keep the fan running, mainly when I'm behind one of those stinky diesel pickups.

you could do it if you wanted to rewire/vacuum tube the air box. But if you are on "heat" the only way you can heat the air is by drawing air across the heater core.

you could theoretically recirculate the air but it wont be able to reheat the air

Recirculating it would be fine in the short term. I'm sure the windows would fog up in a hurry without outside air.

I'm just curious as to why that's not an option without a/c.

Oh well,,, thanks.
