about to start all-Alpine install, a few final questions

Okay, so after a several month delay so I could get the funds together, I just ordered the final (most $$$) piece which is the Alpine INA-W910 Nav receiver HU. Also ordered the PAC MS-FRD1SYNC interface, PAC SWI-JACK steering wheel remote interface and replacement double DIN console bezel. I will be installing it with two Alpine SWS 1043D subs, two Alpine PDX-F4 amps (one for door speakers, one bridged for subs), Alpine SPR 60C components in front, SPR 68's in rear doors. Also using a 2.5F power cap, running all new speaker wire, building custom rack mount for amps on rear cabin wall behind seats, yada, yada...

So, pre-install, final totally unanswered question I have is regarding the backup camera -- what wire is it and where is a good place to splice into it? I seem to remember reading it can be accessed under the passenger side kick panel, purple/black wire? Can I just solder a RCA plug on it and plug it into the Alpine HU and I'm done-done? Isn't there a backup wire that powers up the camera, do I have to bypass that so it is permanently powered up?

Also, on the SYNC interface and PAC steering wheel control -- sure I will have questions about that once I get into it. Any experienced advice appreciated.

Looking forward to it. Scheduling an extended weekend later this month to do the install (3 days should be enough, hopefully).

Sort of -- nothing special, using 1/4 plywood covered in black felt, secured to double metal sheeted portions of back cabin wall, probably mount over existing rear liner (no Dynamat). The Alpine PDX amps are fairly small; may stack 'em if I have room, otherwise mount side by side with single cutout for power/ground/audio wires and a power dist. block. The power cap is probably going in the center console. Waiting until I get into it to make final determination about that. Altogether, it won't win any awards for best looking, highest tech install but it will look nice, be secure and highly functional.

Starting the door speakers today (why wait for the HU to get here?). May take some pics and post for anybody that is interested.

This is the third vehicle in my life that I have done a complete audio system install on, the other two being a 2004 F150 XLT and going way back, a '91 Ford Escort. Everything I learned from those two is going into this (and then some). It is going to rock

I made progress on it last weekend, ran the speaker wire from the rear to the front, through dash, bundled inder console awaiting my next session (weekend after next). Also located the OEM Sony amp under console, determined I DON'T need the PAC SYNC retention harness, just using a Metra connector and taking remaining connections from points I've identified in the BCM. Located rear view camera video wire, trying to locate a mating connector for it and the speaker outs on the OEM Sony amp under console so I don't have to cut 'n splice. I think Mobilistics or Delphi may make them; stopping by Ford parts dept. tomorrow and show them pics of the connectors and ask. Got the amp rack mounted in the back but ran into a clearance problem when the seat is opened (lowered), managed to put a dent in the 2F capacitor I had mounted on it (duh). It'll probably still work fine, debating whether I even want to retain it though (caps are of limited benefit as we all know). Also, my install in the back is not looking as clean as I would like, but I am not a professional installer. Maybe I will have time to mess with it some more and make it look nicer I'll post some pics after I get all the speaker wire terminated and dressed out.
