audiophile radio output ?

what is the 05 f150 audiophile radio power output
like 50x4

im thinkin about a radio change and didnt want to down grade in power

i did a search and came up with nothing .. could be was wordin is wrong

50 watts x 4 is deceiving. That would be "peak" power. RMS watts is a constant measure of a unit. Most factory radios are somewhere around 10-12 watts RMS. I just installed a Kenwood KDC-MP342U (and LOVE IT) in my 02 SCab which has a rating of 22 watts RMS. That's the most you will probably find. Very few are 25w RMS. If you want more power, an amplifier would have to be plugged in to rear pre-outs (2 sets good, 3 better)

thx the one im lookin at is a 40x4 but 18 rms ,3 rcas front, rear, and sub
i just tryin to find out if that was better or as good as the audiophile
im not really goin for more power just more stuff like BT, back up camera and dvd
but i dont want it to sound worse lol

Sounds like you are on the right track. Almost any aftermarket head unit is better than factory. My last aftermarket was a JVC rated at 18 RMS and still sounded better than the one I took out. I say give it a try. Save the packaging so if you decide you dont like it... simply return it.
Aslo keep in mind if you will need an installation kit and/or a plug n play wiring harness.

Aftermarket HU's will pretty much double your Factory HU's output...plus look better and give you better features along the way
