swapping out hu

I receently bought an e250 super duty van with an am/fm only.Seems as though vans only come with this because they only have 2 front speakers.I would like to swap it out for an am/fm cd player but the ones i've seen have 2 plug-ins in the back and mine only has one.Its a work van so its nothing special.Ebay has some good deals for short money but they all have the 2 plugs.Anyone know if that 2nd smaller plug might be for back speakers and the unit will still work for the front ones? thanx

A lot of the time if there is a 2nd or 3rd plug, it is for DVD, factory subwoofer, or CD magazine. Do you have a picture of the back?

all of your speaker wires/power should be in the main plug.

ummm, I know its used in Mach/audiphile systems. I think it can be used for external CD changer type stuff too.

Yah my factory 03 Radio with indash single CD had only the single plug in it, and had a blank hole on the back of the HU casing for another connector, infact the other connector was in my dash behind the radio, but did nothing when i plugged it in

I believe the second connector is for the external CD changers, since my truck was prewired for it in the dash.
