Pioneer Head Unit to audiophile sub

Im buying my friends audiophile sub out of his 04 f-150 but before i do i want to make sure i can hook it up to my pioneer hu. And if i can how do i do it? Just an rca wire to the amp or what?

Someone please help me out if you can!

You'd need to verify if you have the factory sub harness there before going forward. It's very difficult to make work if you don't have that harness.

Then buy the aftermarket adapter harnes that will convert the factory sub harness to a set of RCA wires and two remote turn on wires as well. Then it will all work.

In my opinion, if you don't already have the factory harness there, it's not worth it. I attempted it once, but only helped for part of the wiring and it took forever and was a huge pain.

If you don't have the factory harness, I would think its too much trouble for what its worth. Plus the sub itself isn't that great sounding anyway.

ya well my friend had it hooked up to his stock headunit and than hooked it up to his pioneer touch screen one so im sure it already has everything i need. otherwise im just gonna buy an 8'' and build a box and put it in..
