p4000dvd deck won't sit right

i just installed my new deck and i can't get the damn thing to set right. the top sits back further than the bottom, if that makes sense. i see guys have them in there trucks and they sit perfect. i tried using spacers on the top 2 bolts to it tips it out, and still no go. any ideas?

What dash kit do you have? Crutchfield gave me the metra kit, and I had to use the spacers that came with it (all 4 of them) and the longer screws to get it to sit right. When I first installed it, the top was tipped inward while the bottom sat flush.

Just to clarify, I put one spacer under each corner or mounting tab.

so 2 on each side and only on the top? i got the crappy metra kit too. yes i ordered it from crotchfield

One spacer under each mounting tab. If you don't put any under the bottom tabs, it'll bow in in the middle or possibly even break if you overtighten.

i got got back in and did that, but i could only put them on the top otherwise they bottom stuck out. so now it sits perfect, thanks

can't remember which kit i used, but i just drilled holes where i wanted them to get it to sit right

Why does none of you use the stock Kenwood Frame (CAW1114-53) for the F150? Crap? Bad fitting?

I'm thinking about buying the DNX8220BT ... But I need as much infos as possible!
