What's my stock HU worth ???

Just took the stock double din HU out of my 08' F150 last week. Of course it's like new. But still, why would anybody want to buy a stock HU ?

I know if I don't sell it for cheap, it will just sit around collecting dust. What should I ask for it on Craigslist ? $75 too much ?

Still trying to get rid of the "worthless" like new, rear seats out of my Supercab :-( Bout ready to throw those in a trash bin too.

Hmmmm,
Fish

PS, I'm not worried about keeping this stuff for later re-sale. I plan to drive this truck until it's worth $50 at the wrecking yard :-)

I'd say keep the stock HU unless you can get what it's worth. I can't tell you how much it's worth though. The reason I say keep it is because there is that chance your aftermarket HU could get stolen. If you keep your factory you can still have a radio while you look for a new one.

They don't bring a lot of money - and depends on what you have - the 6 disc audiophile is probably most sought after. I'd check ebay and see what they're bringing there. I'm installing a new Kenwood this week and debating whether to try and sell my HU (single CD/cassette/AMFM w/Sirrius) or to do like Texas Tech suggests and just toss it in the closet as a just in case...

Well.....

The way I see it, if my deck failed, or was stolen, I could replace it with another just like it, so easily, for so cheap, I'd sooner do that, than put the crappy stock HU back in there.

Ya' know, my new aftermarket HU is a Kenwood Excelon 792. Awesome deck ! But this morning I saw the Excelon 692 that is darn near the exact same deck as mine, for $139 on SonicElectronix.com
For an HU of this quality and features, that's just stupid cheap !

In fact, now that I think about it, if an Excelon 692 is only worth $139, my stock HU is going to be worth about .20 feet of my trash can tomorrow morning.

And this stinking rear seat..... that I'm tired of walking around.... Urgggg....

Peace,
Fish

If you don't mind me asking Fish, why did you remove the rear seats?
