New Kenwood HU!

I finally ordered my Kenwood DD this weekend and it will be here tomorrow. I got the DDX7019 (last years model & the one that I really liked for my 2002 dash). I will be installing it myself hopefully tomorrow if the new Metra 95-5818 dash kit (made specifically for installing a DD in the older F150 dash) makes it tomorrow too. My question is I am also going to be upgrading my Sub amp wiring and would like to rewire both of my amps to the correct remote wire so that the system stays on after you turn the key off and until you open the door like they do stock. Right now, my factory HU stays on, but both of my amps turn off. If anybody knows what wire I need to look for please let me know!

Also Travis from KC Autosounds was one of the best car audio guys I have ever talked to and actually gave honest info and pushed me in the right direction. He is a great guy and I would highly reccomend him! And if anyone is interested in a Factory IN-Dash 6 disk let me know!

I actually took a chance and bought a factory refurbished unit from salectronics.com (after doing HW and looking into it) as I just couldnt justify 600-800 dollars for a head unit for my 02'. The deck is $429.99 with free shipping but by the time you add the ipod interface, dash kit, wiring harness, connectors, etc. I am about $550 into it after CA taxes and everything...it was a little more than I was originally planning on, but I think it will be worth it. The stereo came today, it was packaged up exactly like a new unit and looks almost new itself, once installed you wont be able to tell its not brand new! Didnt end up getting my dash kit and wiring harness so I have to wait to put it in until tomorrow HOPEFULLY!

ANYWAYS, as far as the amps go, after looking at my wiring it looks like the amp remote wires were just connected to the ignition. Do I just need to tap these lines into the remote wire coming out of the factory wiring harness to make the amps stay on with the head unit after the key is turned off?

travis couldnt get the reman kenwood units, however he was still a ton of help and didnt mind a couple calls even after I had bought the HU online. He's a very straight up guy, SUPER HELPFUL, and if I can - next time my stuff will come from him!

I got the HU in over the weekend, and the more I use it the more I am loving it! Its super adjustable, very easy to use, looks great in the dash! I will try to get pics of in the next couple days.
