AVIC D3 Install Help 07 Screw Lariat

I have a few questions about an upcoming install for my truck.

1. I have the non Audiophile HU in my truck without a factory sub. I have purchased a factory sub and wish to install with the D3. What will I need to do so?

2. I have the factory Sirius radio and I am currently using it in my truck (gotta have my Howard Stern) and what additional parts will I need to make work with my D3? I noticed there is a sat controller under the factory HU that has the sat radio antenna and another harness plugged into it. Does that stay?

3. Whats the best fitting dash kit to install in my 07 Screw.

Jesse

save the time and hassle and get an aftermarket amp and under the rear seat sub. You'll save $ in the long run and be much more satisfied with the sound.

I've got a CrossFire 1000D and a 10" L7 but I just don't see how I could get a box to fit under there. I don't want to do a seat lift.

yeah unfortunately there's not a lot of space under those truck's back seats... without doing a seat lift you're gonna have to go small and factory sub would prob. be your best bet. unfortunately, you're not gonna get the same audio quality but i'm sure you're aware of that already. have you thought about some shallow mount subs? kicker cvt's are really good subs and they are incredibly shallow.

for the dash kit get the metra 99-5807 multikit. it's gonna have the single din stuff as well as the double din mounts. or you can go with the double din only kit which would be fine as well. metra makes good kits and thats what we use at Circuit City.

as for the sat. radio... i think you're out of luck with keeping the factory system. to my knowledge there's not a plug that'll adapt your factory system to work with that pioneer unit. pioneer does make a little sirius box that you can purchase and add onto the D3 and sirius has a box too it's just a matter of finding one that'll hook up the right way with it.

Buy your D3 from crutchfield and they'll send you all dash kits and wiring harnesses for free along with step by step instructions on how to do it for your exact vehicle. Look at my pictures, I have the D3 as well and I love it!
