Problem with OEM head unit

I have the (2000)stereo with AM/FM and single CD.

Problem is, sometimes when I turn the knob adjust the volume, the power will flash on and off. I'd assume that there's a problem with the connection, but is there a way to fix it or should I just get a new HU.

Either get an aftermarket unit or look for an OEM replacement on ebay. If it was me I would go aftermarket because you can get a nice MP3 unit for under $100 that will blow your OEM stuff away.

Thanks, pretty sure I'll go the aftermarket route.

Look at it this way...you'll have a good time time deciding which new unit to get.

I replaced mine with a Pioneer D3 I got off ebay for $510 and it included the Blutooth box, and the IPod cable all other cables and connections and also came with the bypass to watch DVD's while in motion. All I added was my back up camera. Look around. There's some good deals out there.
