disassemble H/U/Dashboard 03 STX

I am trying to get to the rear of the stock Kenwood H/U in my 03 STX and needing to know if anyone know how to take apart the dash or simply pop out the H/U. I have tried using the tool that you put in the holes in the face plate but that didnt work. This face plate only has one hole on each side not two like all other stock H/U face plates. Please help...I would like to hook up an AUX wire to play my iPhone/iPod in the truck. Thanks in advance.

grab the two a/c vents on the sides of the HU
pull it out, hard. you can see the edge of where it is supposed to come out.
unplug the airbag light
that will give you more access to the sides of the unit so you can see what you need to do to take it out
