OEM stereo questions

I am looking to upgrade my factory am/fm radio to a factory cd player or 6 in-dash changer. I have been looking on ebay and found a few possibilities. Now I know that I will need a radio with the new style antenna but I am curious since most of these are used, will it absolutely have to be re-programmed for my truck? As far as fit, will most any OEM radio fit my truck whether it be a single disc or 6 disc player? Your help would be great here! Thanks!

Thanks for the info there rollin! Sounds like it might be kind of a gamble. There are some good buys on ebay but if I have trouble like that it wont be such a good deal. I may reconsider and maybe go with some sort of aftermarket radio. This is mainly just a work truck for me so its not like Ill be adding amps and all that so I dont need anything super fancy.

Hey, if you are interested, I have the AM,FM,CD,Sirius OEM unit with all four speakers that I just removed from my 2008 Screw. I am willing to part with them for just about any reasonable offer. PM me if interested.

Is it a audiophile system with 3 plug ins on the back of the head unit?

take a small flat screw driver and start under one of the top corners and just pry it up.. its some what hard but it it will come off, once one is up just work around the whole plastic face and pop it all off.

Thank you. I can tell by your pictures that you know what you're talking about.
Very nice work! Thanks for taking the time and effort to share it. I want to get behind my radio to find a keyed hot wire to tap into (to send a signal to my B/U lights relay). Figured radio power would be an easy one to find. Is that the green/yellow stripe one I see in your pics?

I need a 12 V circuit to use to send a signal to my back up lamp relay. Don't need lots of Amperage. I want it to be hot only when key is switched: Run or Accessory. Radio power wire should do, unless I can find another circuit that's better. I'd prefer a circuit that is unused. I know I should have some that but I've been looking and asking for weeks now without any answers and I want to get this done.
Power window circuit would be good, since I'm not using it. (XL: crank windows)
