Some wiring questions

I have installed 4 or 5 head units in my lifetime, but never one that requires me to hookup to reverse lamp harness or a rear view camera.

Do you normally run the purple wire from the HU all the way back to reverse lamp harness?

I have a camera to install as well and it requires to hook up to same reverse harness. I then have to run a wire from the camera to the video box unit - Where is a good spot to put this unit?

I have to run a ground and ignition wire as well for the video box unit? Where do you guys run the wires usually? I would assume you protect these wires somehow?

At this point I have too many questions and I hope someone can help.
