Question Going from factory 6CD to factory 6CD with sirius, harness question...

I've got a factory 6 disc CD in my '06 F250 right now, and wanted to hook up a PIE adapter for my IPOD. I ordered the adapter thinking my factory deck had everything it needed to run the adapter and the IPOD. Wrong. It looks like I needed to have the sirius satellite option on the deck to run the adapter correctly. I've found plenty of factory 6 disc CD with the sirius satellite module on Ebay, but none come with the harness between the deck and the module. Sirius (or XM for that matter) doesn't even offer service to Alaska (yet, at any rate), so I wouldn't need to hook up the module anyway. My question, though, is would the radio and the PIE adapter work without hooking up the satellite module?

Check with these guys:

They should have an adapter for you. Also, XM does Canada, so you might be able to tune into that feed.

I believe you simply need the sat ready deck so that is has the input for the satellite receiver, which is where the PIE plugs into. So you don't need the wiring between the satellite receiver and the deck, just the deck with the input for it. And if you get a package like that the stock Sirius receivers are going for about $150 on eBay so you can even resell that for some $$ in the pocket.

I'm 90% sure what I've said is correct, but Low e Red will be along shortly I'm sure and correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck with your install!

I checked out the integration solutions site, I'll give 'em a call tomorrow. Thanks. Justi, that's what I was thinking also. When I was researching threads about this, someone was asking how to stop the SAT1, SAT2, and SAT3 from displaying through the AUX functions, and someone chimed in and said to simply unplug the satellite module. So that got me thinkin', if it isn't plugged in, would it even work with the PIE adapter since that plug connects in between the deck and the module. If only I could find the harness that connected the two, it'd already be in my truck. Thanks for the info, guys!

as to your question if you have an AUX button on your radio then you should be good, I just bought an ipod interface especially for the ford PXAMG, it controls everything that is on the IPOD on the factory radio, it also charges and the install took less than 20 min , got it from http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1116
