HU install question

Got a couple questions that maybe somebody could help answer for me. I got a 2007 f150 screw and just purchased a Kenwood ddx 7019 and thought I would give it a shot on installing it myself. I have both wiring harnesses one that plugs into the head unit and the other for the factory sub and for the most part it looks pretty simple. Now my questions

1. Parking sensor wire from the kenwood HU. This is so the dvd does not play while driving correct? I have read that you can just ground this wire to bypass it, is there anything else or just ground that wire?

2. I have the factory sub in my truck and I got the harness which has the two rca cables and two blue/white wires. I haven't removed the factory HU yet so not sure what I'll find in there, but I think I read there is only one wire and the two rca cables in the factory plug? I've also heard I need to wire in a resistor (5k or 3K?) between the HU and harness. So do I tie the two wires from the harness together, put in the resistor then hook that into the HU wire. Is there anything else to wiring up the factory sub? On the Kenwood HU there is a Power control wire (blue/white) and a external amplifer control wire (pink/black), are these basically the same or which one would I wire into?

Anybody that could give me any information it would be greatly appreciated.
