04 HU in a 00?

Has anyone replaced a 2000 F150 HU (1L3F-18C869-AA) with a 2004 F150 HU (4L3T-18C869-GE). Any help would be great.

I doubt it. I don't think it's possible without shelling out more cash than it's worth to do the coversion and make it look right.

Just buy a new HU. Even a cheap one to hold you over till you can get something better.

Its definatly been talked about a couple times... I think itd be bad ass.

All you would need is a harness for the 2000 Ford (70-1771) and the reverse harness for the 05 radio (71-5521).

I dont think it will fit without HEAVY modification. Its hard enough to fit a DDin radio in there without a dashkit. The '04 radio is a good bit bigger than the DDin. Good luck though...post up pics when your done!

That's what I'm saying. I don't think it's going to fit correctly, getting it to work I don't think would be a problem. Love to see it though if you're feeling determined.

Dude, you should have hit me up 2 weeks ago. I probably would have bought it off of you. I just picked up a cheap HU with a CD player that plays MP3s and has an aux. input so I can listen to my Zune. Sorry.

If you're looking to get rid of it though, put it on Ebay with no reserve and start the bidding @ $.01

I just sold my OEM HU with a single CD player (that was broken) for $40... They are in pretty high demand and you'd probably get $75-$100 for it if it isn't defective. The 04 and up HUs go for pretty cheap, but the 97-03s go for a fair amount of money. I just shipped my defective one out yesterday to the winner. Ground shipping was $11 from MI to TX...

I would also post the Ebay auction link to it in the classifieds. Thanks for askin' but I'm all set.

Hey foreman, thats's impressive. It's not too often you see people trying to hook up other forum dwellers. Even if you are a Honda rider!
