Reason: need to
I grounded mine between the seat and the cab. I used sandpaper to clean the surface first. Everyone loves to argue this and will probably argue with it. I ran a multimeter across it to check the ground, and its stable. So far I haven't had any problems with it.

I know I looked at old posts lots of fighting over ground spots lol
I used the seat bolt. Cleaned the paint of first. Works fine.

i always use the seat bolt as well... anything else is alot of extra trouble for the same result... just try to keep your ground as short as possible with the biggest wire you can...
SEATBELT BOLTS ARE HALFASS. Please dont lead other people if you dont know what you are doing.
My seat bolts (not belt bolts) are a very good ground. Tested and proven.
You are correct that it is not ideal in all vehicles but our trucks have good grounds unless they have rusted away.

Yeah I did say that everyone will argue over it. But in this threat YES for the seatbelt ground outweighs your one NO for the seatbelt ground. Take it for what it is.

Mine is grounded with the seat bolt between the rails and the truck body. It gave me hell for the first few days. Now it seems fine but occasionally the power flickers. Its a PITA so do you know of a better place?

Pull out a DMM. And about a 6-8 foot piece of wire. Measure the resistance of the wire. Remember this #. Then connect that wire to - batt terminal. Then test your spot. Resistance minus wire resistance under 1 ohm is good.
Thats normal for it to do that on a seat bolt...
