help removing the radio in 1997

im able to get the dash trim off around the head unit but i cant see ne bolts to get the head unit out the truck is a 97 plz help me.

You more than likely need a set of removal tools. Are there 4 little black holes on the face? If so, this is what you need:



They can be bought at Walmart or similar stores usually, less $5 (maybe $3). Any auto parts store would have them. You stick them in, bend the tools outward so the tips surpress the lock mechanism. Then it just slides out.

You dont have to have those... Just take off the plastic trim (yank and it comes off) and depress the clips, Comes right out.

I have also used a clothes hanger! Cut two peice's just long enough to bend into a U shape insert them into the holes and push both sides outwards and the radio should slid right out!
