Go with the DD. Too many moving parts to break with the flip-out. And I always thought flip-outs were kinda "cheesy" looking, but that's just one man's opinion...

i agree. i had a brief second thought yesterday when i left a meeting. I walked back to my truck and took a peak inside the vw beatle next to me. the head unit had been gutted and wires were everywhere. The whole top dashpanel was missing too. Felt bad for the girl. I won't go with a flip screen, but i will be very careful where I park when i'm out at night.

Well what if you don't have the new body style, would you go DDin or flip out, cause don't you have to cut stuff away with DDin on the old body style and it looks kinda strange?

I have a Kenwood right now but, I would still recommend Alpine. I too prefer the double din. I did always like the "cool" factor of the screen motoring out and flipping up in "Fast and Furious". But double din looks awesome in the truck. There are lots of great units out in double din. The new Alpine W505, which is coming out soon, is high on my list.
