Will an '06 HU work in an '04?
Will '05-'07 CD6 HU fit and work properly in an '04? The part numbers are different and thus i don't know how to know if they can all interchange. I am talking about the non-audiophile version of the CD6.

I have a 04 XLT and installed a audiophile HU from an 06 in my truck and everything works perfectly. However at this time I don't have any bass because I need a sub. The audiophile HU wont send the lower bass signals to the speakers, thats why it has a seperate connector in the rear just for the sub. So yes you can upgrade just as long as the headunit is from an F150.

up to '06 should be plug and play.

Only thing to watch out for is if you have an audiophile system - you need to make sure you are replacing with audiophile if you have the sub, etc.

I think the 2007 uses a different antenna connector.
