Question Steering Wheel Control Problems

I could really use some help on this one. I spent the weekend upgrading my audio system surrounding my factory '07 navigation unit. Everything has been changed with the exception of my stock oem navigation HU.

So I got to drive my truck for the first time this morning and noticed the following problems. On the steering wheel, my volume, seek, and all cruise control button don't work. The weird thing is that the temperature and fan control buttons work. I used two scosche wiring harnesses to splice into the factory wiring harness. One of them is the stock harness, and the other is a reverse wiring harness. Essentially by wiring these two harnesses together you are able to tap the speaker level output without cutting any wires.

I assume at least the volume and seek buttons are tied into the radio harness. Does anyone know where I can start troubleshooting?

Compare the two harnesses (both sides) and make sure there are no gaps or non connected wires between the two harnesses.

I do know that the SWC are in the main harness i forgot the pin #'s

I made the same setup for my Factory HU last year. Luckily I compared the harnesses before I hooked it up.
And when I compared the pigtails, there was 1 or 2 pins different. I had to move it to the proper slot that I needed it to be in.
There are some unused slots in the factory harness that Scosche puts wires in. And some used slots that are missing wires.
You just need to go back and compare very carefully.

I went back last night and found the problem to be exactly what you said. The Scosche harness was missing three pins. Unfortunately I couldn't move and replace one side of the harness due to the way the pins were molded in so I ended up tapping back into the factory harness. It was a sad thing to do, but in the end I used all insulated male/female connectors so I can go back later and take the taps out and return it to factory without any more cutting.
