Unhappy stereo swap

Just bought a radio/single cd player from Ebay out of a 1998 ranger to replace my cassette player, upon installing the unit would not power up or do anything! seller claims it worked when pulled from ranger. All hookups are exactly the same on the back. I am installing it into my 1999 F150. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Jeff

Have it looked at by someone else to see if indeed it works or not . Did you use Pay Pal to buy it? You may have some recourse there if the seller does not want to work with you. Good luck!

Check fuses. It's possible one of them may have blown when you were installing.

just because harnesses are the same shape don't mean they are wired up the same. Might be easier to get a wiring manual for that year ranger and for your truck and bump the data together.
