a little issue!

when i had the stock unit in my truck, on power up the stock sub never maid a sound and worked perfect. now, after i installed my new head unit (pioneer- the one made for the ipod) when my stereo and stock sub power up i geta big thump and loud beep. is this normal? I have the harness with the rca and remote wire for the sub that connects to the factory plug. Just want to know is this normal, will it hurt it, can it be fixed if not?

Put a 5K (5000 ohms) resistor inline on your amp turnon/remote wire. This will drop the voltage down and stop the thump. If it still continues you can get a PAC TR-4 that will delay the amp turn on for 1 second after your radio turns on. This will stop the "thump"
