Seeking advice re. PXA-H701 processor

Hi Guys. I have an Alpine IVA W205 HU that I'm in the process of installing in an '05 SCAB. I have a PDX2.150 that will be used to drive the front rainbow component speakers. I will use the W205 internal amp to drive the rear speakers for fill. I have a Supercrew Sound box with a 10" Image Dynamics driver that is/wiil be hooked up to an Alpine PDX1.600. I have the back wall Dynamated and MDF boards are cut and ready for mounting. My original plan was to mount the X-overs on the back wall and as I was thinking about the wall layout, it ocurred to me that perhaps it would be good to toss the X-overs and put an H701 processor in the system. A few questions:
1. With the processor in place, will I be able to fade/balance the W205 amp to control the rear volume?
2. As you can tell this is a relatively 'simple' system so in your objective view what would I gain by dropping $300 for the H701?
3. What is the 'best' way to hook up the H701...with the AVInet cable or with an optical?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

1. I really dont know...I never ran rears or even off HU power...I would have to say you could still fade the rear...but, dont quote me.

2. Some of the best car audio SQ I've ever had...hands down! I loved my combo...I will more than likely get another H701 for my new HU.

3. Optical fo' sure!!!!

I agree with Bry on this. If I remember correctly, the H701 has front 1 and 2, center, rear, and sub. Even if you run the front active, you should still be able to fade from front to back.

Last thing, the optical only works on the DVD/CD drive. Sat. radio or regular radio or iPod needs the ai net. But optical on the DVD/CD for sure.

Thanks Brypink and Deconder for the quick reply. I'm still debating as to what to do with the install. Since I've ended up dropping *a lot* more $$ at Knukonceptz (wires for the "big 4", speaker wire, connectors, distribution blocks, RCA cables, etc...) and I opted for a yellow top optima battery, my cash reserves are getting low. I may hold off on the processor until later.
