Question about an Audiophile Head Unit

Does anyone know for sure what the wattage output per channel is on a factory Audiophile 6 CD/Satellite?

Someone told me that it was suppose to be 85 watts per channel. That sound like a bit much to me.

A quick search online netted me zilch, but I did find an informative site with all kinds of other goodies about your system on it.
85 would be a little out of the ballpark for a stock integrated head unit/amp.
Also depends on how they rated it. Most amp companies rate using up to 14+ volts and utilize a 1k hertz frequency (which requires less power to push than lower tones)
So, in essence they are overrated and not very accurate. 85 true watts per channel would be deafeningly loud.

I've only tested two across the bench so far. Average output was surprisingly high.

6 CD 7L3T-18C815-LA: 41 watts peak (per channel/front)

6 CD Audiophile 7L3T-18C815-KA: 68 watts peak (per channel/front)

That sounds awfully high for a little integrated solid state HU. What were the testing parameters? Voltage, test frequency?
Not doubting your test results, just wondering more about the output of these stock units.

lmao, sorry, but no way.

Are you going to tell me that the FACTORY deck can put out the same amount of power as most after market full blown 4 channel amps- while simultaneously being capable of holding and playing 6 CDs, a working as a radio, and fitting into that small spot in the dash?

Sorry, but no after market radio would even come close to putting out even close to those numbers.
