HU wattage question

I have a 2005 XLT with a single disc HU; what is the wattage output for this unit? I am looking to upgrade speakers and add an amp.

Thanks -
Douglas

The 2005 units were in the 22 to 25 watt range. The single CD unit offers better sound quality and higher output than the 6 CD units. The stock HU has enough power to drive a pair of quality after-market speakers.

You can use an amp with speaker lever (high level) inputs with the OEM HU. The HU does not have RCA outputs (low level).

6 disc unit power...

Does anyone know how much power the stock 6 disc units have? RMS wattage? I have heard people say that the stock headunit's will power a good set of aftermarket speakers but that hasnt been the case with me.
