OEM 6 Disc and Aftermarket subs and amp okay?

I got a 2001 Ford F150 with OEM 6 disc and i was wondering if it was okay to run aftermarket subs and amps with the oem 6 disc head unit?

Yes, you can do it but you will need to buy an amp with high level inputs as the stock head unit does not have pre-outs for RCA plugs.

Works fine. I did that for years until I got a great deal on a Kenwood HU from a fellow truck fanatic.

Will a Rockford Fosgate 600.1 bd be a good amp?

Also, my truck got broken into this weekend, luckily they didnt take anything since everything is factory, but what kind of alarms do you guys have or would recommend?

Thanks

I've been adding amps to factory units for 20 years. A modern amp with speaker level (high level) inputs sounds just fine with the OEM unit.

I heard a car alarm recently where the typical alarm sounds were replaced with LOUD audio of a couple having raunchy sex. I have no idea what it is called, but it definitely caught everyone's attention.
