Reverse Sensor Beeping from Stereo or Other???

Where does the beeping for the factory reverse sensors come from (radio speakers, seperate beeper, etc....)?

I was curious if replacing the factory head unit will affect how the reverse sensors work or are they completely seperate so nothing to worry about?

Thanks.

It will still work when you change out your factory head unit.

YES it is!
The only difference is your aftermarket head unit wont turn down the stereo when you are backing up!

I wondered the same thing when I bought my 2005 FX4. The RSS beeps come from behind the dash (somewhere) and not through the stereo system.

The head unit in the wife's Expedition does turn down the volume a smidge when you go into reverse, but I can't tell any difference in volume when I go into reverse in my 2007 FX4.

Thank you all for the responses. I have completed the ordering for my sound system today (and I don't even have the truck yet).
