Smile Ipod On 2004!!!

I have been trying to hook up my ipod to my 2004 SCREW XLT truck. I have the 1 CD, AM/FM radio with the AUX button. by reading in other posts, the P.I.E. units seem to be the ones to go. unfortunatelly, I would like to be able to control my Ipod from the radio controls. I called P.I.E. and the girl on hte phone told me that was not going to be able to do this. Can somebody help me and tell me if this is true? Has anyone instaled a P.I.E. unit on this type of radio/truck? should I go with other type of unit?

thanks!!

iPod-Must have!!!

Greetings leos,

I wanted the same from ym truck that you are looking for. I tried using one of the stero adampters to play my iPod through it and it was a complete waste of money!

I looked online at crutchfield and found this little guy:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fLcVeVC...50&I=581PA11F1

I am NOT techno savy at all, and managed to install it in 20 minutes or so, very easy. You CAN use the factory controls to skip through songs and to scroll through playlists as well. And you can use the iPod controls as well. Additionally it charges your iPod, which is very helpful. I am VERY pleased with this unit and it sounds great!

My other recommendation is to get the factory radio removal tool, makes it much easier.

Also, the link I provided is for the heritage (old) body style, if you have the new model, you will have to search for it again.

Hope this helps! If you need anything else lemme know!

best regards,
