Best way to add to system.

Planning on upgrading my system with components / amp / sub and new head unit (eventually). But I may want to ramp up to it to see how things go. I was thinking of starting out with replacing the front speakers with some 2-way coax's and replacing the head unit. If I did that, what would I need to install at that point to be ready to add an amp for components and a sub in the future (coax's could be moved to rear then). Could I get the cables for the pre-amp outs installed and just leave them tucked up under the dash for when I add on, or would that cause problems? Anything else I would need to do?

I just want to avoid installing / uninstalling / reinstalling my head unit if possible.

Thanks
