Question Aux Tray Input With Aftermarket HU Question

Does anyone know if the wire that comes from the AUX input Tray contains individual wire within the housing that
could be soldered to work with an aftermarket (radioshack)
1/8" stereo plug so that it could be connected to an aftermarket headunit. Basically, i do not want to lose the AUX input when i put in an aftermarkt headunit.
If anyone else has done this or something else, please advise.

Thanks!

But don't most aftermarket units have an input anyways?

Talking Yes they do

Yeah, most do have an aux input but i want to integrate it with the factory jack in the tray on top of the dash, which elminates the neeed to modify the dash or run a cablesomewhere that i would have access to it.

I just thought I'd give a tip... I ran my aux cable into the center bin so I have the security of keeping my MP3 player there. It's also easy to run it up through the cupholder area so you could have it there too...

The dash just seems like an awkward spot for that plug...

I ended up yanking out the ashtry insert and ran the wire in through the back. When Im not using the Ipod I can fold the wire up and close the door.
