Why is it sometimes when I start up my truck, the CD changer cycles through all the CD's like it is checking each one out? It never plays them, but after cylcling through all six disks, it stays off (if the stereo was off). If I was listening to the radio, it keeps playing music without interruption. The major concern is the reoeated cycling. What's the deal? Could there be a loss of power somewhere? I don't lose station presets, and I don't get in without the interior lights functioning like the draw-down protection shut off. It only happens sometimes, but it is still many times per week.
It does sound like a power loss. The 6CD player typically only cycles through the discs after losing power. My first guess is that there's something wrong with the head unit. Second guess is that the input power pin might be slightly pushed. (or other wiring problems).
It's the Head Unit my truck radio does the same I've had two head unit replaced and they all do the same. The dealership technician says the manufacturer acknowledges the problem and will be coming out with a replacement unit. I posted a post with some of the other suff my head unit does.
