Stock head unit removal

I'm putting an ox box onto my stock head unit to hook my ipod through, just wondering how the hell to get the head unit out of the dash. I'm not a mechanical idiot or anything just looks like a real project. also has anyone heard anything about the oxbox good or bad?

What is the Oxbox? I have never heard of it, and a google search doesn't find anything useful. Do you have a link to a product page?

Misspelled

It is an auxillary box but I have the basic am-fm cd player but I'm not sure if it will plug into and or work with this radio here's the link to the part I think will work. any comments about connectability and if this will work with my setup are welcome.

Your link is invalid, and I searched the Crutchfield site trying to find that adapter, but I can't find anything.

try the link above, it should take you directly to the crutchfield Aux box page. Aux box is just my generic terminology.

Well there ya go then. The FRD04-AUX is perfectly suited for your truck's auxiliary input. Note though that it is only RCA input jacks, and you will need a different adapter to take the line out from your iPod, or an adapter cable to convert the headphone jack to RCA male plugs.

Correct

Everything wil match up, but in the hookup instructions it says that an "AUX" button is a must on the radio and mine is lacking this crucial button, so i'm not sure if it will work after plugged in. I have the dash all pulled apart, and my local audio shop assures me it will be fine so i'll try to install it on monday. I'll keep my fingers crossed. thanks for the help

If you have the SAT button instead of the AUX button, you might want to try this adapter instead.

It allows you to control the iPod from your head unit. The only problem is it's not shipping yet.

Instalation Complete

I ordered the part and some cheap ass immitation came to the audio place instead. They assured me it was of equal quality (doubtful) but I nonetheless installed it and had to use alot of my own stereo cables and such to make it work in stereo instead of mono, so if anyone is interested in putting a simmilar part in beware of the ("PAC" Aux Box2).
