ford 6 disk in 2001 f150

any one know if a ford am fm 6 disk cd player out of a 04 or 05 f150 will fit in a 2001 f150 and will it plug up or will i have to cut wires

What about calling a local dealership? If any in Louisville aren't willing to tell you, go across the river in Jeffersonville/Clarksville and see a dealer there. Someone should be able to tell you there. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say no it won't fit, but there may be a way.

You'll have to adapt harnesses. You'll also have to cut the inside of the top of the dash opening. You'll notice that your factory radio "stair-steps" down. The 6 disk player top will hit the inside of the dash. You just need to trim the plastic inside. I've done it many times. I usually us a dremel tool. Metra makes harnesses that will plug into the factory radio and then the opposite that will plug into your vehicles wires. Just join them together. Thier site is down for some reason tonight but should be back up in a bit. www.metraonline.com
