What does my 04 supercrew have for a stereo system?

Hey. I have an 04 supercrew lariat. It does not have the audiophile system. I'm wondering if the factory head unit has any preouts on the back to hook up an aftermarket amp or do I need a new head unit? Also wondering what the audiophile system has for speakers that the regular system doesn't have. I've heard the audiophile system has extra speakers. Will the regular system still have the mounting holes/speaker grills for the audiophile speakers even though they are not installed? Thanks.

No preouts on the factory deck. Many modern amps will accept speaker level input or you can use a speaker level converter from companies like Soundgate, PAC, and Audio Control just to name a few. I am not 100% positive what the audiophille system includes but the regular systems do not have the factory tweeters in the front doors and the entry level 5x7's are dual cone.

Yhup, your head unit does not have pre-amp outputs. Most amps have speaker level inputs so you can tap off of the speaker lines.

The audiophile system will have a sub-woofer, component speakers front and upgraded 6X8 speakers in the back doors. The standard audio system only has four 25W paper cone 6X8 speakers and no woofer.

The front doors on your truck should have the mounting hole for the audiophile tweeter even if the truck doesn't have the audiophile system. If you look in my gallery, you can see the grill on the front door (tweeter goes on the top left). The grills on my front doors just popped right off to give access to the speakers. The interior door panel had to come off to get access to the rear door speakers.

Audiophile systems will have a sub-woofer under your seat. Standard stereo's will not have a woofer.
