Q about the ``audio mute'' feature, F150 audiophile system

so, i had an '04 Mach 1 previous to my FX-4, and while both stereo systems are vastly different, both have the ``audio mute'' feature---the button with the phone icon on it.

the Mach 1 had the Mach 460 stereo in it, and my FX-4 had has the audiophile 6-CD/MP3 system in it.

in the Mach 1, hitting the audio mute actually paused the CD, (and of course therefore muted the audio), but in the FX-4, it only mutes the audio, and the CD keeps playing.

this is dumb. and makes the button completely useless to me. i don't suppose there's anyway to mod that, huh?

anyone think this is as dumb as i do?

i agree completely. i used it a couple of times, realized it was retarded, and have resorted to using the power button instead -- mutes and pauses!

Me too. The power button is closer and easier to reach as well.
