Question Pioneer DEH-P4800MP Setting the #@$! Clock

OK,

This past weekend, I installed my first sound system into my 97 F150 XLT ... went fairly well... actually great. I only have two issues... I can't get the unit's clock to set... and the head unit won't power-off. Any ideas on what may be causing this? I know about the misprint in the owners manual (from pioneerelectronics.com), but that doesn't seem to work either. My first thought is maybe a bad ground connection??? I don't know... just frustrated with something that should be pretty straight forward.

To turn it off, push and hold the source button, and I think to set the clock you need to push and hold the function or clock button when the radio is off.

Tried everything and finally set the clock. Had to use the remote to turn it off and then no problem. I find it wierd that the remote is the only way I can turn the unit off... any thoughts on that one?
